Win an autographed copy of Duke Miller’s LADWD TurboEd

Okay, it probably won’t be autographed by Duke himself.  He lives on a mountain somewhere in Mexico where mail delivery is iffy and I live in the jiggly, wiggly hills over the San Andreas Fault in Northern California.   But I may be able to forge his signature.  And I will send it to you.  So how’s that?  Pretty cool hey?

I’m sure you’re wondering what the heck the rules for this contest are and so I suppose I should make some up.  But I have a better idea.  Why don’t you guys come up with the rules?

No ideas springing to your head?  Well, here are a couple of suggestions:

We could do the generic thing:  Guess how many jelly beans are in the jar.

Or something specific:  Guess Duke’s favorite cereal.  Is it Fruit Loops, Captain Crunch or . . . ?

Or we could make you work for it:  In 2,000 words or more,  analyze the shit out of one of Duke’s more offbeat posts: He Found a Friend.  Who is the friend really? Extra credit if you use the word ‘green’ multiple times. Aside from winning the contest, we’ll post the winning entry on TinHats.

Speaking of sales, which I wasn’t but am now, for the past several months we’ve had the price for LADWD at the lowest rate possible.  Which means, though sales have been okay, the profits are so slim we haven’t been able to pay back our sponsor.  So we’re going to raise the price to the recommended $15 after, of course, we give away a few copies for FREE.  That’s called, the logic of marketing.

Update, May 27th – Duke informs me he wants nothing to do with jelly beans, Fruity Loops or 2,000 word essays.  However – he is interested in what you think of the friend in:  He Found a Friend. Long or short, doesn’t matter.  So the game is on and will be on until June 15, 2018.
